NYFW: Public School

In the midst of heavyweight champions of NYFW such as Alexander Wang and Rag & Bone, Public School managed to capture my attention. This up-and-coming brand has been under the heated spotlight as the designer duo won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award last November. The designers, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, branched out to include womenswear in the collection's repertoire during the 2014 New York Fashion Week. The duo claims that the Public School girl was intended to be an androgynous counterpart for the boys. Thus, the ensembles for both men and women were similar in color scheme, silhouettes, broad-brimmed hats, and oversized outerwear. Overall, the collection was very suited for the ever-so-stylish New York City due to its cool, urban aura.
